YOUNG LEADERS PLAY A CRITICAL PART IN A CITYWIDE GOSPEL MOVEMENT.
We train leaders worldwide to build gospel movements in their cities. In NYC, we use our extensive experience and expertise to catalyze church planting efforts and develop leaders to serve a gospel movement that seeks the renewal of the entire city. Young leaders in churches across NYC fuel this gospel movement, and they need support and intentional development to step into their callings as church planters, vocational ministers, and marketplace leaders.
We come alongside churches to help them identify, equip, and mobilize young leaders for the advancement of the gospel in NYC. In this nine-month training program, we provide apprentices with a diverse set of learning experiences and deep connections with other developing leaders across the city. At the same time, we support and train pastors as they coach their apprentices on a ministry assignment in their church.
Apprentices meet every other month for five Saturday learning sessions. Each session includes extended, interactive teaching on the day’s main topic from an expert facilitator, testimonies from ministry and marketplace leaders, and community-building activities with other apprentices.
To highlight key components of a citywide gospel movement, apprentices also participate in two guided site visits—one to a mercy & justice ministry and another to a church plant outside their neighborhood.
Ministry Assignment and Coaching
Each apprentice will complete a ministry assignment in their church under the supervision of their pastor. With training and support from City to City, pastors will meet with their apprentices regularly to coach them on their project and help them process what they’re learning.
