Preparing leaders to start balanced, gospel-centered churches in their neighborhoods
 
 

the training

The Fellows Program gives potential church planters training with seasoned practitioners and a realistic experience of life and ministry in the city. Fellows gain exposure to urban ministry experiences such as small group leadership, mercy ministry, teaching, evangelism, and faith and work integration.

 
 

Development opportunities

The Fellows Program is designed to provide appropriate development opportunities for each Fellow in any of the following areas:

Experiencing the rigors of urban church planting

Theological integration

Processing how the gospel impacts all of life

Leadership & Pastoral development

Learning to influence and shepherd others well

the program

There are three essential components to the Fellows Program:
 


field ministry

Fellows spend 30-50 hours per week in a field ministry assignment under the supervision of a New York City pastor.


weekly sessions

The Fellows cohort meets weekly from September to June, and sessions include seminars, discussion, and study.


practical equipping

Fellows visit church plants and receive individualized coaching to prepare them in actionable ways for planting their own church.

Qualifications

  • Ordained or on an ordination track
  • Affiliation with a church planting network, denomination and/or existing church in New York City that can help candidate obtain a residency or internship
  • A strong sense of calling to church planting in NYC
  • Proven character and integrity
  • Prior ministry experience
 

Capacity

Approximately 6-8 Fellows are selected for each cohort
